The superior priming and sealing properties of AllCoat eliminate the need for a separate primer. AllCoat hides bright colours and wall patterns and generally covers and seals most surfaces in one coat. AllCoat resists flash-rust over galvanized and ferrous metals. AllCoat resists grain raise over new wood and trim-work and sands to a powder within one hour, making AllCoat an enamel undercoat.
AllCoat is compatible over and under all alkyd and acrylic paints. Dries super fast with very low odour and is great for brush, roller or spray applications over all interior surfaces including; finished and unfinished walls, doors, trim and ceilings of refits and commercial properties like supermarkets, warehouses and factories - anywhere a fast-drying, high-adhesion multi-surface finish is needed. New cured plaster, drywall, cement, poured concrete, stucco, wood or metal doors, windows, panelling and trim; aluminium and glean galvanized metal, PVC, glossy laminates and other interior surfaces. Surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free of any contamination that may interfere with adhesion.Remove all loose or peeling paint and chalky paint residue. Sand edges of any remaining paint film until smooth. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960 paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead.
Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
New concrete, masonry and other related surfaces must be cured at least 30 days before priming. Remove all existing mould and mildew before painting.Timber at risk from decay or insect attack should be treated with an appropriate preservative. Zinsser AllCoat Interior is self-priming and will adhere to any sound surface. It bonds to existing glossy paints without sanding. The first coat of AllCoat Interior primes and seals the surface, providing a base for the topcoat. The topcoat completes the sealing process while providing additional moisture resistance and protection.
Before painting, fill all nail holes and gouges. Where necessary, spot prime knots and sap streaks with Zinsser B-I-N® Primer-Sealer. For new or unpainted cedar, redwood, or other resinous timbers prime with Zinsser Cover Stain®. Ready to use - no dilution necessary. Wash application tools in warm, soapy water immediately after use. Use Zinsser BIN Brush Cleaner to remove dried paint from brush. AllCoat is not recommended for exterior use or for application to floors, decks, or any surface subject to immersion or prolonged contact with water.
Touch dry: 30 minutes at 21°C. Hard dry: 1 hour at 20°C and 60% RH. Full cure: 3 - 5 days. Recoat: 1 hour at 20°C and 60% RH. Drying and recoat times will be extended at lower temperature and higher RH.
